So much of what we do each and every day is based on our habits. It's as if we're on autopilot. And, unfortunately, some of the things we do without thinking are causing us to stay fat.  Here are some of those mindless habits that cause weight gain:

  • Eating while distracted -- Sometimes, entire meals are consumed without giving one thought to what we're actually putting in our mouths.
  • Dousing salads with dressing -- In theory, eating salads is a great, healthy idea. But, dumping a bunch of dressing on a salad turns it into a calorie bomb.
  • Going wild on the weekend -- Relaxing and having fun on the weekends is important. But eating junk food for 48 hours straight is a problem.
  • Making bad coffee decisions -- There's very little wrong with a little coffee in the morning. But, it's trouble when every day it's a giant cup, whipped up with loads of sugar and cream.
  • Cleaning your plate -- It takes discipline, but it's important to stop eating when you're full and to not just keep chowing down until your plate is clean.
