If you think our drinking habits are bad, a history lesson might give you some perspective. New research shows that, during the 18th century, the Founding Fathers drank nearly three times what the average American drinks today, chugging an amazing six gallons of pure alcohol every year. Taverns were moneymakers back in the day, and there were more taverns per capita than any other type of business in the country. So honor those brave men who built this country from the ground up by throwing back a few brews! (Daily Mail)

Hey Friends!
Wow ! It seems like such a long time since I started my radio career at WNCO. It was January 1980. Ashland High School had a program called Student Aid where a student could spend two class periods per day at the career business of their choice, provided of course that field was represented in the area and accepted interns. I have Mr. Minnich and Mrs. Schmandt to thank for getting me off on the right foot at school and John James for taking me under his wing here at the radio station. (John you still have one of the best voices this area has ever heard!) Graduation came, WNCO needed a weekend guy and that was me. The following January this became a full time job. You had a chance to hear me in the evenings, afternoons and briefly in the mornings before our fearless leader Colman arrived in 1984. In December of 1989 this facility became a low power cable TV station TV-59. In addition to my radio duties I became a TV sports anchor/videographer/editor covering the local and regional scene. After 18 amazing years at WNCO as disc jockey, music director, sports director I had the opportunity to expand my TV career while staying in the Mansfield area. I became a television weatherman. Fast-forward to January 2004 and the chance to rejoin the crew at WNCO came along and I jumped at it. My love for Country Music and Radio, and begging from the program director had alot to do with my return. I serve the company as Commercial Production Director (since March 05)and Afternoon Drive-Time announcer on Mid-Ohio's Country Giant WNCO. It's an honor to work for Colman, and work with Kelly, Gene and the rest of this radio family...and to hang out with you in the afternoons!
I make my home in Mansfield with my wife Kelly (Sheehan) and am the proud father of Sara who is now a graduate from nursing school and is working as an RN. Our yorkie Murphy passed on April 24, 2010 at the age of 14.
