Wings and Pizza would be my top two choices when it comes to tailgate food...even when the tailgating is done from the living room couch. Yet rarely does our Super Bowl buffet end up that simple. We'll have chilli & cheese dip, buffalo chicken dip, veggies, assorted other chips & dip, and a handful of desserts. There's a chance that this year we'll go with BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. My wife and I are still working on the menu. Traditionally though wings and pizza are the top choices and this year you'll need to have your wet-naps ready because much of the country will be wingin' it! (Matt Appleby)
Super Bowl Sunday is one of the biggest eating days of the year ... and the darkest day of the year if you're a chicken. We know Americans like to chow down on chicken wings, but just how many deep-fried appendages will we gorge down our gullets?
The National Chicken Council has released its 2013 Wing Report (that's a real thing) and estimates that more than 1.23 billion wings will be eaten Super Bowl weekend. And get this – if all of those wings were lined up end to end, they would stretch from San Francisco to Baltimore 27 times. (National Chicken Council)
